I took a day off for the sole purpose of roaming around and taking photos. Sometimes you just need to step away from everything and refresh.

One step back, one hundred steps forward.

I remember starting this photo blog with an inspired intention to share photos, discover diverse shooting techniques & immerse myself in photography. To my own surprise, I’ve kept up with this more than I could ever imagine and it has become a great part of me. Photography has proven itself to be more than just a passion. It has become a great friend.

So today for my 100^th post, I’d like to revisit the first blog post and photograph that started it all. I still remember exactly how I felt when this was shot- Completely and utterly inspired.*

I am happy to announce that I have finally begun my Photoblog!!

The photo above was taken on a recent trip to New York. Some friends and I were walking back to our apartment on St. Marks Place and there lying on the sidewalk in front of our stoop was an old couch with a message on it. The writing on this couch was created by a local New York City artist named De La Vega who is well-known for using mixed media, such as garbage, sidewalks, walls, trash, and in this case, an old couch to convey his message.

It was a simple reminder for all who passed it.
